Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns welcomes Peter Gan as Chief Operating Officer

Kuala Lumpur, 28 May 2018 – Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns, a member of OSK Group, announces the appointment of Peter Gan Hock Chye to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In his new capacity, Gan will be responsible for leading the operations for the group’s portfolio of 10 hotels with an inventory of over 2,000 rooms in prime locations as well as steering the company’s future growth and maximising potential of the brand especially in new markets, to achieve greater yield.

Gan is a hospitality industry professional with over 30 years of leadership experience, having worked for global hotel groups after starting his career in the United States. Gan brings with him diverse international exposure, sound business acumen and successes in leading numerous city and resort properties.

His proven leadership and operational experience in the hospitality sector including his ability to improve profitability and building cohesive teams will be valuable for the group’s development and growth as it looks to strengthen and expand its brand positioning.

He was most recently, the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager for Aoluguya Hotels & Resorts based in Harbin, China. During his tenure, he played an integral part in implementing effective strategies to increase overall revenue throughout its five (5) hotels. Prior to that, he has served as Chief Operating Officer for Ansa Hotels & Resorts; and General Manager - Operations & Hotel Openings for Dusit International whereby he successfully handled high-profile openings of several hotels in China within a period of two (2) years.

Gan was also previously General Manager for several reputable hotels managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts where he was responsible for the success of its properties in China, namely in Shenyang, Jiangsu and Hainan. He had also held the same role with Berjaya Hotels, covering hotels in both Malaysia and Mauritius; and he too has led teams in Singapore, Australia and Africa.

Throughout his hospitality career, his leadership experience earned him numerous accolades. He was recognised as Top 10 Outstanding General Managers, Best Foreign General Manager and for three (3) consecutive years, he was coveted the 10th Most Excellent General Manager Award during his stint in China.
