Matang Museum
A fantastic cultural and historical
museum. Situated in Kota
Ngah Ibrahim, this historical establishment began
its story
from the year 1856. Prior to its function as a
museum, it
has been the used for many purposes such as the
official
residence of Ngah Ibrahim and Captain Speedy,
a
courthouse, the first Malaya teachers’ training
centre, a
school and even, used during the World War II
by the
Japanese as their operation centre. Learn the
history of
this wonderful place and feast your eyes with

Bota Kanan Conservation Center
The Bota Kanan reserve covers
about 8.5 hectares of river front land next to
a sandbar where the river terrapin have returned
to nest. Females now use the large sandy area
between the riverbank and the water’s edge
during the breeding season from September to March.
It is said that annual collection 30,000 eggs
of which 4,000 and 5,000 are kept for hatching
through its captive breeding program. |
